Dubrovnik Airport, also known as Cilipi Airport, is the international airport serving the Croatian city of Dubrovnik.

Dubrovnik is located on the coastline of the Adriatic Sea in the region of Dalmatia in the most southern part of Croatia. The region is bordering to the countries of Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as Montenegro. The city is a popular tourist destination in the Mediterranean Sea, as well as a seaport. It is situated in an exclave connected to the rest of Croatia by the Pelješac Bridge. The city is on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites due to its fortified old town and outstanding medieval architecture.

Dubrovnik Airport is located approximately 22 km/14 mi from Dubrovnik center. The airport was the third-busiest airport in Croatia, after Zagreb Airport and Split Airport, in 2019 when they saw 2,896,227 passengers move through it. In 2021 the number of passengers moving through the airport was 927,934 due to the still ongoing effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. The busiest month of the year is August with the months of July and September also being busy months. The winter months are the least busy months of the year.

There are many airlines that operate at the airport and it is a hub for Croatia Airlines. Most flights are seasonal, but there are flights serving Athens, Zagreb, Warsaw and Barcelona all year round. Some flights are charter flights.

Dubrovnik Airport has one runway. It has a concrete/asphalt surface and its length is 3,300 m/10,827 ft.

The airport is a public airport operated by Dubrovnik Airport Ltd and it serves Dubrovnik-Neretva County. Its location is Cilipi, Croatia.

The airport opened in 1962 and has grown ever since. The old terminal building has been demolished to leave room for the modern passenger terminal that stands there today. It is the most modern passenger terminal in Croatia.

The airport has in fact 3 separate terminal buildings (terminals A, B and C), but Terminal A is no longer in use and Terminal A and B have been combined into one single unit and the airport is considered a one terminal airport. The airport has a capacity of up to 3.5 million passengers annually.

Transfers at Dubrovnik Airport (DBV)

The journey between the airport and the center of Dubrovnik will take approximately 30 minutes, but keep in mind that it might take longer during rush hour.

Rental Cars – Car rental vendors can be found in and around the airport terminal. The car rental car park is located opposite the terminal behind the bus parking lots. Buses – An official shuttle bus operates between the airport and the center of Dubrovnik. It departs several times a day adjusted to match flight arrivals. The public transportation bus company provides bus routes between the airport and different districts of Dubrovnik, with a few departures each day, but these routes are subject to being seasonal. There is also a bus route between the airport and several locations located along the coastline north of Dubrovnik which departs up to 8 times per day. Hotel ShuttlesHotels in Dubrovnik sometimes offer an airport shuttle service to their guests so they can transfer between the airport and the accommodation with ease and convenience. This service is sometimes offered free of charge and sometimes it comes with a surcharge.

Private Transfers – Private transfer companies offer their services in the area. Transfers are requested directly to the company in advance by the traveler or their representative.

Ride Shares – Uber offers their services to passengers that arrive at the airport. Transfers are requested through Ubers smartphone application upon arriving at the airport.

Accessibility Facilities – The airport’s accessibility arrangements include wheelchair lifts and ramps, but accessibility is very basic.

ATMs/cash Machines – ATMs/cash machines are located in the Arrivals Hall.

Bank Services – OTP has full-service banking offered at the airport. They are open during the morning hours Monday-Saturday.

Currency Exchange – Two currency exchange counters are located at the airport, one can be found in International Departures and one in International Arrivals.

Information Desk – Visitors can find an Information Desk in the airport’s terminal.

Smoking – A dedicated smoking area can be found in the secure area of the airport, once the security control has been cleared. It is located opposite gate 24. Before the security check it is only allowed to smoke in the dedicated smoking area found outside the airport terminal.

Lost and Found – There is a Lost and Found counter found at the airport.

Mobile/Cell Phone Charging Points – There is no information about any dedicated mobile/cell phone charging points at the airport.

Children’s Playground – A playground for children is located outside the terminal, near the bus parking lots opposite the terminal’s entrance. There is no dedicated playground inside the terminal.

Lockers and Luggage Storage – The airport does not offer any options for storing your luggage during your time at the airport.

Luggage Wrapping – Luggage wrapping facilities can be found in the check-in area.

Showers – There are no showers available for travelers or visitors to use.

Quiet Zones – There are no quiet zones located in the airport terminal.

Resting Zones – There is no dedicated place to rest while waiting for your flight.

Sleeping Zones – The airport does not offer a dedicated location to sleep.

Airport Opening Hours – The airport is open between 4.00am – 12.00am (4.00-00.00).

Shopping – There is a Duty Free Shop located in the International Departures area. In the Domestic Departures area travelers find a newsagent and a tobacconist.

Food and Beverage – Coffee shops where travelers can have something to drink and something small to eat are located in the Domestic Departures area as well as in the International Departures and Arrivals areas.

Airport Lounges – There is a Lounge available to all travelers through a lounge membership program. It is located on the airside in what used to be the old Terminal A.

Parking – The airport has 200 parking lots located opposite the airport terminal. It has short-term as well as long-term parking lots, and there are also bus parking spaces available.
