Dubrovnik Airport (DBV) has no train station, and there is also no train station in the city of Dubrovnik.
The closest train station in Croatia is located in Split, a 4-hour drive up the coast. It is also possible to take a bus from Dubrovnik to Split where it is possible to get on a train to Zagreb. It is also possible to travel to Podgorica in Montenegro to catch a train to Belgrade.
Transfer Options from Dubrovnik Airport
Luckily there are other options for transferring from and to Dubrovnik Airport. These options include rental cars, official shuttle buses, public transportation buses, hotel shuttles, taxis, private transfers, and also rideshare.
Dubrovnik is located approximately 20 km/12.5 mi from Dubrovnik Airport with the Croatian state road D8 connecting the two locations.
There are many car rental vendors at the airport. Make sure to book your preferred vehicle before arriving at the airport. Walk-ups might not be possible when you arrive and if it is you might not get your preferred vehicle. Also make sure to have your documents needed for the rental ready and in order upon your arrival.
All buses depart from and arrive at the airport’s bus station that is located only a minute’s walk from the terminal exits and entrances. It is a separate building that sits next to the main parking lot right in front of the terminal building.
An official shuttle bus route is operating between the airport and the center of Dubrovnik. There are several departures throughout the day, all days of the week. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes one way. Tickets are available at the ticket counter located in the baggage claim area.
The public transportation bus company operates several different routes for transferring from the airport. These routes might be seasonal. The different routes connect different Dubrovnik areas with the area. Several departures are available every day of the week.
Bus transfers are also available for transferring to destinations such as Orašac, Slano, Rapratno, Orebic, Korcula, Lumbarda, Brna and Vela Luka, and more. While there are only a few scheduled departures each day the company regularly add departures upon request. These added departures are announced three days ahead of time. Tickets for this bus, all destinations are on the same route, can be purchased in several different ways including online and through email. There is also a ticket counter to the right after exiting the baggage claim area and tickets are also sold on the bus when the ticket counter is closed provided there are seats available.
Hotel shuttles are offered by many of the hotels in the Dubrovnik area, but not all. This type of transfer is organized by the accommodations themselves and the guest has to request it in advance. The service is usually subject to a surcharge, but sometimes it is offered free of charge.
